why OP exists

talent is everywhere.
opportunity isn’t.

some of the most interesting people, ideas and businesses are still outside the frame. OP exists to look closer: at the people building, the systems deciding who gets through, and the possibilities others have overlooked.

we connect lived experience with decisions that move money, ownership and opportunity. independent voices and informed disagreement belong beside reporting that questions the arrangements we inherit - and ideas for what could take their place.

analysing the absurd through an irreverent lens.

who it’s for

founders, investors, creatives and independent thinkers. researchers, funders, policymakers and decision makers willing to look beyond the usual names. curious readers who want substance, perspective and something they haven’t seen before.

an open invitation

help shape the first edition.

we’re looking for writers and contributors, people with a story worth telling, and brands that belong in the conversation.

01 / writers & contributors

bring your point of view.

reporting, essays, interviews, photography and illustration. a compelling question, firsthand experience or a fresh voice that questions the status quo. we are also seeking economist contributions on pay and value, and clinical or public-health contributors on dementia, equity and Caribbean care.

02 / people & businesses

let us in on what you’re building.

an independent venture, a cultural scene, a hard lesson or work that deserves a closer look. introduce yourself, or tell us who we should meet.

03 / brands & partners

good company, in good company.

full-page campaigns and selected listings for businesses with something relevant to offer our readers. explore the sample, then start a conversation.

editorial features are selected independently. paid placements are clearly labelled.

a few things to know.

is this the first edition?

this is a concept preview, made to share the editorial ambition, visual direction and reading experience. the first edition is in development; the launch date and final contents will be announced as the project takes shape.

what should a writer send?

a short pitch: the story, why it matters, how you would approach it, and the experience or access you bring. a link to previous work is welcome. commissioning terms, scope and fees would be agreed before work begins.

can i suggest a person or business?

yes. tell us what they’re doing, what makes their story worth exploring, and where we can learn more. introductions are welcome; features are editorial decisions.

are the sample adverts confirmed partners?

the sample demonstrates how advertising could sit within OP. campaign concepts and advertisement references do not indicate confirmed bookings, endorsements or brand partnerships.
